Chiller Care
Chiller Care focuses on the cooling circuit behind stable fibre laser cutting in South African plants. It gives operators and maintenance staff a straightforward way to inspect temperature control, water condition and alarm history on an HSG setup.

Cooling checks before production starts
Chiller Care covers the cooling side of an HSG laser setup for South African plant conditions. It helps teams check the chiller, keep maintenance records straight and spot issues that can affect stable cutting.
Start with the chiller setpoint, ambient temperature and the hours the machine is expected to run. Gauteng dust, coastal humidity and power interruptions can all change condenser cleanliness, water quality and restart behaviour, so the cooling side cannot be treated the same at every site.
Record the first readings before the day shift begins. A quick note of inlet temperature, outlet temperature, tank level and any active alarm makes it easier to spot drift before poor edge quality or source faults interrupt cutting.
Temperature records that matter
Routine checks can be repeated by operators and filed by supervisors with maintenance records. Useful entries include date, machine ID, coolant condition, filter status and any change to the chiller setting after a service stop.
Use Chiller Care alongside Cutters, Cells and Kerf when cooling performance starts affecting cut consistency across the cell. Sheet metal cell enquiries should name the materials, the thickest sheet you cut and the spares you keep on hand.

Plant conditions affecting chillers
High ambient heat can push the chiller harder during long cutting runs, especially in enclosed bays with limited airflow. Where water quality is inconsistent, teams should watch for scale, discoloration and blocked strainers that reduce cooling efficiency over time.
Near the coast, salt in the air can accelerate corrosion on external panels, fasteners and heat exchange surfaces. Inland sites often need more frequent cleaning around the condenser because fine dust build-up raises running temperature and can trigger nuisance alarms during heavy production.

Details to send with faults
When reporting a cooling issue, note whether the fault appears at start-up, during continuous cutting or after a power return. Add the displayed temperature, any warning code and whether the laser source or cutting head also stopped.
Maintenance records are stronger when each chiller check is tied to a specific machine and shift. That makes it easier to compare recurring alarms, coolant top-ups and cleaning intervals across the same HSG laser cell.
